Krishak Bandhu 2025: “কৃষক বন্ধু” is a welfare scheme launched by the Government of West Bengal. It aims to provide financial assistance and life insurance protection to the state’s farmers. This scheme was started on 1 January 2019. Under this, a fixed amount is given to farmers every year as financial assistance, allowing them to purchase seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, etc. Also, under the scheme, an assistance amount is given to the family of the farmer on his death.
The scheme was relaunched as “Natun Krishak Bondhu” on 17 June 2021, with the assistance amount restructured with a major increase.
